Log Saw Buck

Leveraging the Peeve - pun intended

This sawbuck requires two people with peeve's. Some logs are so heavy (or so green) that without machinery it wouldn't be possible to get them up onto the cutting stage. However, with a second person, it increases the range of diameter that you can budge. Keep in mind that once the log is cut (between the 4x4's), the round are already at waste level. Then you can use the mobile runway, or a truck or trailer to transport them to their final destination. You could combine this structure with the vertical split system from October 2022 on one of the 4 sides. Then use a ramp or a mobile runway to move the round across and you are ready to spilt. Hidden from view in this image is a 1 pallet down the center.

Gap style

An alternative is to increase the gap size between the logs (by removing more pallets in this case 3 wide instead of 1 like the previous image) which makes more internal walking space. Make sure to use log chalks to prevent the logs from rolling back on you.
