Creating the Scene

Sometimes when the effort to produce a piece of technology is so difficult to make, we must start by simply visualizing what we have in mind. The cable for the space elevator would have to be anchored securely on some major bedrock, perhaps a mountain. I would suggest Mt. Everest due to the height but it would be exceedingly difficult to build and maintain - so lets pick a lower mountain in warmer weather to anchor our carbon nano tube cable that the space elevator would ride on. Carbon nano tubes are quite strong in comparison to steel but its is still difficult to make in high quantities. The sun rays were made from spring meshes by setting the spring rise property. There are solar panels to take in the rays of the sun to provide power. At some point a docking port would be needed to we can take quick trips to the moon and back. If we move all of our ship production to space - then we don't have the cost of overcoming gravity. Asteroids could be mined for raw materials - and behold we are traveling back and forth to mars in no time.
