H Blocks

Step right up - get your finely crafted andesite HBlocks, no stone to hard to shape. Place your order and we will have it done in no time at all - at least looking at the runes of Puma Punku, that's what the evidence seems to say. No where else on earth at least not that we have found yet, has prefabricated stone blocks with angled connectors. Now you have to admit that there is some pretty good stone work at various sites, but none compare to the building block style of the HBlocks.

A Non-Parametric Approximation

This is a first attempt at simulating an H Block. My main interest is to get the 3D to a point where I can build with these and see if we can come up with some valid ideas relating to how they were used. This version was made mostly with simulated planes and a few boxes. The final version that we build with will probably be all boxes when the move is made to parametric design. As with any 3D object that is higher on the complexity level, you have to get to know your shape before the final version comes into being. Think of it as drawing exaggerated 2D stick art when learning how to draw people on paper. The more you practice, the more refined your model gets. In this case I chose a texture that would make it easy to see the intricacies of the hblock so we will see where it takes us.

Stay tuned for Part 2
