Ladder in hole approach #2

This 3D model is our second attempt at the ladder in the hole scene. Scroll down for the construction method.

Construction Method

This 3D Model has 54 objects and its made entirely of box meshes. Compared to approach #1, we have achieved the rectangular shape. This model is a little to deep for my liking - not that it looks bad, but I wanted a more open perspective. Another challenge is moving the camera to the correct location in order to "film" the correct view. I may need to upgrade MathCompiler3D to allow for better camera placement. I will create a follow up article when that's complete. That's how things work though, you find something you can't do, and then you figure out a way to do it. Sometimes you can take a different approach - and sometimes a tool upgrade is needed. I think for my desired end results, the brick layer should be vertically shorter - however, I would need to change the texture so it doesn't distort when the height is decreased. This design could work at a swimming pool...but it was not the intention of the model build. The look of approach #1 and the look of approach #2 does not have to be identical (rectangular shape not included). As we try each construction method, we are still in the conceptual design phase. This could be considered the R & D portion of the project as we iron out our methodology.
