2 Corinthians 5:7
7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.
Why is it hard to walk by Faith?
Its hard to walk by faith because we can't see. Lets say you are in a dark room that you are unfamiliar with. You haven't seen this room before - and you haven't been told about it but you know you need to get from one side of the room to the other. This room has no windows - you have know idea how to get from A to B. There is random noise within the room from time to time - you have to listen very carefully for a still small voice amongst all the commotion to guide you around the obstacles in this room. If you don't listen carefully enough - you could stub your toe, trip and hurt yourself, or wander around aimless as if you were lost in the desert for 40 years.
Guidance from a Schematic
Wouldn't it be nice if you had an ear piece like that have in the movies and someone on the other end was at a computer walking you step by step through the dark room - move forward 2 paces, turn left, take 2 steps, turn right....
What about from a higher view
What if today you are navigating a much larger course than a single dark room - what if you were a pilot - and you had to trust an air craft controller that could guide you to 35,000 feet without crashing into other planes. You would have to have 100% trust in this person - that they know the system, they have your best interest in mind, and that they weren't lying to you. Your life would be completely in their hands. If you only had partial faith in this person - you might get by with 1, 2, or 5 trips - but its a pretty high possibility that somewhere along the line, if you get impatient, or don't listen to the controller, any # of things could happen. The consequences could range from slightly undesirable to absolute death.
