Have you ever thought of what periodic elements the stuff you see around where you live is made of? What if you had a complete list and use a machine like a mass spectrometer to find out exactly what periodic elements stuff was made of.

Lets do some baking.

We have a chicken coup, a wild field of wheat, sugar cane, corn, and saccharomyces cerevisiae. So we have eggs, flour, sugar, oil & yeast. Now we can bake some bread based on what we have around us. If there is iron around, then you could make machine parts. Other plants can produce medicine.

My point is, with research you could create base level recipes, extract elements out of nature, and construct things that will help in everyday life that folks might not be away of. You could write a program to list all of the items in an area, break them down to their base components, and then list out what you could use those base components to make - and thus you have a recipe "program."
